Threads

A thread keeps one exchange together: the files you sent, the files that came back, and everything written under them. You never have to look for "that transfer from last week" - it sits in the thread with the person who got it.

How a thread starts

You do not create threads. One appears the moment files change hands:

  • You send files to someone - that person gets their own thread.
  • You send the same files to several people at once - they share one group thread.
  • Someone uploads to your portal or to your @nickname page - that upload lands in a thread as well.
  • Someone without an account sends you files - they arrive in a thread for anonymous senders.

What is inside

Every transfer of that exchange, newest first: the file list, the size, a preview for video, audio and images, and the download button. Under each transfer there is room for a short message - a question about a file, a correction, a "got it".

Replying and sending more

Write under the transfer and press Enter - the other side sees it within seconds, without refreshing anything. To send something back, drag files straight onto the thread, or drag a transfer you already keep in Resources onto it to share the same files again.

What is new

A thread with something new carries a badge, counting both transfers you have not opened and replies you have not read. Opening the thread clears it.

Notifications

New files and new replies reach you by email, in the app and as a push notification on iOS. The link in the email opens the thread itself - on the exact message, not on a page you then have to search through.
